This great little parklet, a temporary feature, was down the street from the flat where we stayed in London. With a well-used “Black London Taxi” as the basis of the installation, the designers gutted the interior and the right side of the cab along with engine and drivetrain and crafted a laminated plywood interior out of reclaimed material. This particular parklet, located in the City of London, was frequented by many, many visitors to one of the local pubs (there were three within a stone’s throw) nearly every night. A nice installation and example of reuse/recycle, and a little bit of landscape architecture blended with art.
